Commemorating the Abolition of the International Slave Trade
Wednesday at noon in Arnold Hall, Jewish Studies Center--Lawrence Hill, award-winning Afro-Canadian author reads from Someone Knows My Name.
Wednesday at 7pm in Charleston County Public Library--"This Ambiguous Anniversary"--five of the world's leading scholars on the history of the slave trade will lead a public panel discussion on the significance of the bicentenary of the banning of the international slave trade. (co-sponsored by Charleston School of law, Humanities Council SC, and Wachovia).
