ThinkingPeople Women in Black began 1988 when Israeli and Palestinian mothers and supporters came together in Jerusalem to say “Stop the violence; End the occupation.” Since then, Women in Black has spread across the world as a movement of women and men against war and violence, most recently in SC protesting the Iraq war. This June 6th, Women in Black vigils in Greenville, Columbia and Charleston will mark the 40th year of the Israeli Occupation of the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza Strip, and call for the end of the Israeli occupation and its cycle of violence. We will also call for an end to US support for the Israeli occupation which fuels the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Join us in standing for peace in Israel and Palestine. Sponsored by
